Is "Install All Drivers" feature on ASUS motherboard CD safe?

I always heard it is not recommended to install multiple drivers at once as it may conflict with other drivers. Yet, ASUS have this feature on their motherboard CD which allow installing multiple drivers at the same time.

Any thoughts, guys n' girls?

Edit: Humm, I went to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology, ASmedia RAID, Intel USB 3.0, and they all had a warning message on the installation screen saying It is very important that I exit any running programs. Yet, ASUS InstALL is running. Any thoughts?

Hi I have the Asus z87 gryphon. When it comes to installing the drivers I use the CD and do it one by one and install them in the order the installation disk has them.

If I recall correctly i installed the chipset driver first -> reboot -> rinse and repeat.

IMO you should always reboot per driver installation.

My preference has always been to download the latest drivers from the manufacturers website and then install them one at a time. Chipset > Intel RST > Sound > Graphics and as said above with a reboot in between. Then do a full Windows update.

We duid that on my room mates pc.

No problems at all.

So ye Install all is good and safe. It wont burn your pc down will it now ??

I always install the latest drivers available from the manufacturers website. The drivers on the CD may not be the most current.

In terms of install order, rebooting after each step

Chipset -> Storage Controllers -> Graphics Card -> Audio -> Network -> Windows Update -> Image Drive (Insta restore)

If your installing Windows on a RAID system make sure you have the drivers on a USB stick and install during boot you won't be able to install them later. Note: Not sure if this still applies in Windows 8.

I'm sure ASUS got it right with the hammer blow approach, certainly it will get you up and running with the minimum of fuss.

You also get a load of guff from the driver cd's with motherboards. I deleted everything asus provided with my gene except the fan x pert but even that is not used anymore as it was junk.
