Hi all,

I just built a sweet PC with a boxed (not OEM) i7 4790k and wanted to know if there is anything else I needed to do before I got the full 3 year warranty on it?
I want to make sure that I don't have to register the CPU in order to take advantage of the full 3 years.

Cheers for any help.

P.S. I went to Intel's web-site but they don't answer that specific question.

Receipt not even needed :)

Went through an rma for faulty 2600k cpu that i bought 2nd hand and had no paperwork for.
All they needed was the numbers off cpu...which were actually near impossible to read by then for some reason.

Less than 10 days from pickup to new cpu in hand :)

Ooh were you worried? I heard they can be funny about worn heat spreaders.

It wasnt worn as such...hadnt lapped it if thats what you thought :)

It was just really really hard to read...had to take a picture so the flash caught it just right then it could be seen clearly.
