Is iPhone Internet secure?

I would use my iPhone to do Internet banking but I'm worried it's not secure enough. Am I wrong or right ?

Yes it will be secure, as your bank will most likely establish an encrypted SSL connection with your browser on the iPhone, all your bank details, passwords etc will be sent over this tunnel.

I use mine to access online banking, security protocal is the same.
