I was told the maximum ISDN could do was 128 downstream. If thats the case, why pay for ISDN when you could pay for BB?
This is referring to home users and businesses :)

we use it as a backup, 128kbit is better than nothing. Can't remeber the last time it kicked in though.

(but we have 2 SDSL lines and a few old ADSL connections before it is needed, the SDSL is more reliable than the leased line it replaced (how many jcb's cut fibre cable  ))

Also remember there are still places that can't get BB .

i was on isdn up to a year ago because i couldnt get bb , then they upgraded my exchange , dam site better than the 28k i used to get on my dial up anyway :)

As above, ISDN is a dedicated point-to point link, and it's not just used for internet access. With the right codecs you can pump decent quality stereo audio over it.

Who still offers ISDN?

Any major players still out there :p

I have to do an assignment on ISDN vs. ADSL over the next couple of weeks

Any links going?

SW.
