Is it a bad time to be thinking of upgrading?

My problem is, I really want to play BF3 and Skyrim and want to play them at a high graphics etc.

My current basket holds an I5, gtx570, 8gb RAM, Z68 Gen 3 mobo.

But Im thinking... even if BD isnt great, and I wouldnt have got it anyway, will there be an Ivybridge I5 equivalent, that will be the same price and much better performance? Likewise for a next gen grahpics card.

I mean, I would like to wait, but I cant, my current buiild just cannot run these games at all....

What is your current GPU? Get the i5 2500k, RAM and Z68 Gen 3 board. Gen 3 will suppport ivy bridge when it arrives, and the i5 2500k will OC like mad. Got mine at 4.2 without breaking a sweat.

Could save some cash and get a 560Ti for now, then wait until the GTX6xx series arrives. I'm sticking with my dated GTX260 x2 in SLI until the 6 series arrives :) See my sig for my specs, pretty similar to what you're looking at getting.

Yeh sounds like an option. But will the 6 series cards be much better than say a GTX 570, and be the same price?
