is it a big deal if dual screen setup don't match exactly

I have an iiyama 24" monitor and am looking at buying another.

Unfortunately my exact model is discontinued, plus I'd rather just got for LED instead of LCD.

The 24" monitors seem to have changed height/width slightly, around 5mm difference in height, now I'm not going to plan on playing video games, I'll be writing articles, and perhaps playing a movie while I work on the main screen. Will slightly different dimensions [and contrast/quality differences], will this be a big issue for working with office applications?

I have the e2410hdsd, the dimensions are the same as X2472HD, but that does not have a VESA mount so I have rule it out.

This leaves me with E2473HDS and E2409HDS both are slightly small.

Any thoughts?

Code:
e2410hdsd [mine]	298.9 x 531.4 mm; 11.8" x 20.9 "
E2409HDS 293.2 x 521.3 mm; 11.54" x 20.51"
E2473HDS 293.2 x 521.3 mm; 11.54" x 20.51"
X2472HD 298.9 x 531.4 mm; 11.8" x 20.9"

I have a 16:10 and a 16:9 right next to eachother, completely different brand and model as I prefer them for different things, can't say its an issue :D

I have two identical monitors but their images aren't identical despite endless tweaking. The best thing I find it to have an app like Display Fusion which allows you to set a different wallpaper on each screen - by doing that any small variations between the screens aren't nearly as noticeable.

I have a 20" 1680x1050 NEC as my main screen and an ancient 18.1" 1280x1024 EIZO as the second. There's a distinct colour difference between them that I can't tune out under XP but apart from that it's fine. You'll find you use different apps on each screen. I use IE on the EIZO and Office apps on the NEC. This is only a problem if I use iPlayer but I can drag IE across temporarily. I don't use programs on both screens unless, like PS, they have control boxes that can be moved away from the main window.

I have a Dell 2408WFP (24" 1920 x 1200) and a 2007FP (20" 1600 x 1200), the idea being that it would be like having a 3520 x 1200 display. Unfortunately the 20" is about 10mm shorter than the 24", the same sort of difference you're looking at. I've gotten used to it now, and as I use them in the manner that Snapshot describes (i.e. not running applications on both screens) the colour differences don't bother me. Every so often I find myself regretting not going for a second 2408WFP instead of the 2007FP, but it's fine for the most part.
