Ok so i'm chucking the rulebook out the window and making a Clear perspex table top case with lights sat on a metal frame... effectivly stopping the need for a case at all.

Waht do you think, i know you'll have seen some on the net and dreamed about them but i have the tools and with some work will be building it.

Has anyone here done this before, was there any issues you dident expect ?

The rig will be gaming dedicated... so i will need decent cooling im expecting to upgrade to watercooled next year once i've build the initial PC but this will throw more issues into the mix as i'll build the perspex table top with and resevoir and pump area.

What to do ? suggestions /ideas?

Thanks guys

Someones done something similar, desk / pc hybrid, should give you some ideas if you do go watercooling

Thanks its a great build that guys got going on, his budget however is a lot larger than mine.

I'm going to fabricate a metal frame out of 1.5" chrome metal piping and sit a fully clear perspex box on top. i could use some help figuring out weight limits and such but PC's don't weight much and niether does perspex. If the whole frame supports say 20pounds this should support Desktop with monitor and me leaning on it.

As it's my first go, I'm not going to over-reach myself... if all goe's well i would be open to making them again and again with specific spec for others.

If your using this 1.5" chrome metal piping which is used for wardobes and hanging rails it wont be strong enough. I would suggest some box frame either steel or aluminium

I would have thought hanging rails were around 1 inch by 0.5 inches, really dident want to go box frame as i don't like the aesthetics.

I thought 1.5inch or 4cm thick metal tube all welded together into a box minus the front and cross framed on sides and back and top, then finished in chrome.
