is it a good case?

+1 on the quality front, once youve owned a lian li, most other cases seem lacklustre in comparison.

Excellent quality, sub-average airflow. Probably not the best case for a sli 480 system but it would do for just about anything else.

I personally think Lian-Li are over priced for a lot of their cases. However they are good quality and you only get what you pay for.

If it was me I'd be looking into a CoolerMaster CM690II, or anything around that price range. It will do everything you need, and has excellent airflow.

Spend the cash you save on a fancy keyboard or mouse.

I am the odd one out here. Personally i think Lian-Li cases are overhyped and overpriced. I have the PC-P50 which is very similar to this case apart from the front panel and drive bays. I will not be buying another Lian-Li case. It has poor build quality, the side panel mounting is rubbish, the top and front panels are "snap on" and move at the slightest touch, it vibrates, not enough room behind the mobo tray for cables as they have stuck a big lip across the bottom of the tray. This means that the 24 pin cable gets sandwiched between the lip and side panel leaving a bulge in the panel. The cut-out for the 8 pin cable at the top of the case is barely big enough to fit the cable through even when it's split into it's 2x 4pins. The CM Scout my second rig is in is a far better case and i will probably replace the PC-P50 with a Haf X or similar later in the year.

The eternal coolermaster vs lian li debate. I call it the bling vs the subtle and sophisticated :p.

It's not about looks though. I am extremely dissapointed with the Lian-Li for the reasons stated above. After all the hype about them i expected a lot more.

I think it's quite possible that you have an extremely rare dodgy case. I've either owned or handled dozens of LLs including their lower specs (not yours though) and haven't seen anything similar to what you've described, and all the reviews of the P50 mention excellent build quality.

They are expensive I'll give you that but I've never had a problem with quality.
