Hi,

I am wondering if it is a good moment to buy new gpu - in particular I am looking at MSI 560Ti 448 or MSI 570.

I can get the MSI 560Ti 448 for 220 pounds but I'm afraid that in the future when my system will not be sufficient i will have difficulties getting another one for SLI as they are not as popular as oridinary, non-limited editions cards. What do you think?

Get a GTX 570 if you are unsure. You can get one for £250 (avg) anyway, so not much more than the '448's'. Like you said, you may be struggling to find one for SLI in the future.

The 448 is based on the GTX 570 rather than the GTX 560ti anyway (fun fact). :)

2Gb 6950 or 1Gb 560ti, both are very good clockers that should be plentiful to buy used at a later date.

The 2Gb 6950 in the long run would give you better results due to the extra vram, or you could take a chance with the 2Gb 560ti but it will be harder to find a used one at a later date as there is nowhere near as much 2Gb's 560ti's sold as the 1Gb's.

as the above says I think you'll be able to pick up a 6970 or a 580 off the 2nd hand market once the 7970's are delivered and people start offloading their old cards so i'd wait check for 2nd hand models for the next 3 weeks minimum then after that the 7950's wont be far off so then you have a decision to make.

now is not a great time to buy a graphics card, over the next 6 months there should be a whole raft of new midrange cards available that will both be the same price and better than that currently on offer, and drive down the price / increase 2nd hand availability of current cards

IMO

At the moment I have integrated GPU and need something better obviously.

I will be playing at 1920x1200.

My PSU is Corsair TX750 V2 - not sure if it is enough for 2 570s.

...and the budget - would like to spend around 200-250.

It's never a good timje to buy a GPU according to some!!!

Right before the new ATI model, people were saying 'wait until that comes' out, now it's wait for the new-mid range cards?

Buy a card my friend, and have fun gaming with it.

now is not a good time really, because the PCI-E 3.0 cards are being released this year, which will vastly out-perform the current cards, although they will be quite expensive. there hasn't been a price drop for the older cards yet, and as more PCI-E 3.0 models become available, there probably will be.

but if you have no graphics card at all in your computer, any time to upgrade is a good time :D

The lack of a price war between AMD and Nvidia is concerning, the market for buying a video card is the same now as it was last month the only difference being there's a video card that's even more expensive the the GTX580.

Thanks guys. I am buying MSI 560Ti OC to 880MHz as I think the extra performance of 570 is not worth extra 100 pounds. In the future I will maybe buy another one of those to have SLI.
