Hi,
The PSU is the only thing left that has not been tested or replaced in a friends pc.
He has changed the memory, cpu, and motherboard, and still his pc will not post.
It powers up ok and then nothing, no beeps or warnings just a black screen, yet the hard drives have power as do the dvd drives.
Any advice much appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply, its the standard one that came with his Alienware pc which is now around three years old, i think its rated at 430w.
He hasn't tried a different graphics card yet, which is an ATI 1800xt and thats about two years old.
Sorry i dont have much detail on his psu, its got Alienware stamped all over it and no specific manufacturer that i can see.

Thanks.

Some sort of case short, what's the history? Has it never worked or did it just stop working? Are there any beeps with just PSU, Motherboard, CPU and 1 stick of memory?

It worked fine before.
He booted it up one day, got to the log on screen, and then his pc rebooted itself and it hasn't worked since.
