Hi,
I have a p4 2GHZ, three sticks of 768mb ddr ram, the motherboard is ABIT i845E
For some reason, in the bios, it defaults the cpu to 800 mhz, and when it does this, upon bootup, the message "CPU is unworkable or has been changed" Then I press F1 and it boots into windows normally. But CPU-z still shows 2ghz
In the bios when I change the speed to 2ghz (100 fsb) the message disappears. But any other speed, and CPU-Z still shows 2ghz. I've tried changing voltages and even custom fsb and a couple of times windows hasn't booted. The rest of the time it stays at 2ghz.
Does this mean I can't overclock? Is it my mobo that's holding me back?
THANKS!
