will be upgrading the graphics card and mobo later on (within the next few months)

are all those compatiable?

SATA I is the original incarnation of the standard which runs at up to 150mbps, up from the 133mbps maximum of IDE, SATA II allows speeds of up to 300mbps and some new features like NCQ(native command queueing), staggered spin-up(possibly although that might depend more on the motherboard).

I could go on but simply put SATA II drives are designed to be backwards compatible with SATA I and vice versa, you will only be able to run at SATA I speeds but it is unlikely to make much of a difference. Some drives have a clip/jumper that limits them from SATA II to SATA I drives but it should be obvious from the drive. :)
