The Index's biggest negative, outside of its poor black levels due to not OLED Screen, is the fact it requires light houses to track. The wiring is a pain in the butt for any external sensors. I had it with my Oculus Cv1 and I'm so happy its gone now. The convienance of inside out is amazing.

I'd personally see how sensitive you are to refresh rate. I struggle to look past the Oculus Quest, given it can be portable or soon linked to the PC (albiet an inferior PC experience) and it has OLED screens. The OLED screens are the real killer feature for VR which the big boys have decided to ditch to eliminate the SDE. I persoanlly would take SDE and pitch blacks.

You're right of course. As well as the quest looking quite tasty. I'm waiting for wireless for the Index if it ever happens.
Lack of wireless and the cable thickness/weight are the biggest last-gen remnants of the Rift S and Index and also possibly the most requested annoyances which haven't been solved.
