Poll: Is it colder then normal for april ?

Is it colder than normal for April?

My birthday is at the end of April and every year for the last eight years or so, no matter how nice the weather in the preceding weeks (some years absolutely glorious warm sunshine for two or three weeks), on the day of my birthday the weather has broken and it's rained, the only exceptions being 2017 when we had a massive hail storm and 3 or 4 years ago when whe had snow! :D

As far as I'm concerned, April is a ridiculously changeable month in terms of weather, so who is to say what is normal?
 
I would definitely say its colder this April so far than it normally is (Newcastle).

Currently 8C and its struggling to get above that throughout the day at the moment. A definite chill in the air and an Easterly wind making it feel even colder.

It was actually MUCH warmer in February than it is now.

My car windscreen was iced up in the morning a few days ago :eek: and I been having to keep the heaters on at home all the time..

Many morning this week on the way to work my car outside Temperature reading has been 2 & 3 Degrees

Then think harder, 12 months ago most of the UK was under snow.

No, it hadn't. I was out for a long run 2 weeks before the London Marathon, training for the London Marathon and there was snow on the ground and it was snowing in Dorset. The least likely place in the UK to get snow. It was everywhere.
 
Well it wasn't here, we had a bit of snow with the beast from the east but nothing major and it was only on the ground for 2 days at most, Late Feb early March was the worst of it.

Now that was freaky. Scary, even. There is no way february should have been that warm.

Warm in the sun, cold when its raining/gone in just about sums up every April I've known.
 
My other half was looking at the pictures on her phone last night. She had to chop it in for a new one today.

19th April 2018 - there's a pic of me doing a barbie in the garden.

It must have been hot.

I bloody hate having my photo taken.
 
My water butt is now empty. Could really do with some rain, it's as dry as a nun's chuff.

Friday 19th is set to be 22 degrees, best get the phone ready for the annual April BBQ.
