Is it finally time to upgrade from the KS7000?

I bought a 49” one of these around 2016-2017 and loved the TV it’s done me great. But I’m not sure if it’s time to upgrade or not. My main use is gaming, I have a PS5 so obviously 2.1 would be nice and have a decent pc with a 3090 a few meters away so would be nice to hook that up for some gaming too.

I’ve been looking at the 55” LG OLED C1.

My main question is - will I really see that much of an upgrade upgrading to this TV or is it worth waiting for next years models?
Thanks

Hehe, they're great TVs aren't they? I've had mine as long as you but it's been moved from room to room as I've bought other sets - it's currently on the wall in the kitchen. I have a 55" CX in my game room now, connected directly to my PC as a 3rd monitor for the same reasons as you. Short answer is yes, you'll see improvements across the board. Picture quality, colour depth, 120hz G-sync(or freesync), it's nigh-on perfect for an all rounder. Gaming on it is superb.

Honestly it’s been such an amazing TV. I remember before the PS5 came out and looking around it still seemed the ks7000 for the price <£1,500 was still hanging with the big boys.

Thanks for the reply mate, nice to hear from someone else who owns the awesome ks7000!

I have the curved version KS7500 and 6 years on is still used as my main tv in the living room. I recently bought a 48” LG CX as a gaming tv in the man cave for my PS5/Series S, but to be fair the KS7500 is still a great tv and handles just everything. Am tempted to go for a 55” CX in the room and move the KS on the bedroom.

Ive got the KS8000 49".

must have had it 3.5 years or so. Still think its great, although I have never seen a proper OLED apart from in the store. Never seen one in a living room.

Had 55” KS7000 and not wrong, it is a smashing TV. Moved to C9 eventually and upgrade is worth it, more so if gaming. I use mine paired with a 3090 for all the gaming magic, 120hz, VRR, hdr @ 4K and sounds like you would do similar. Why LG is really hoovering up TV gaming market. Add in a cross the board uplift and OLED would be a nice upgrade.

Still have a 55" KS7000 and a 65" KS9000 and to be honest I have no real desire to change them currently. Yes there are better panels out there, but I am not anal enough to run out and drop £4k on 2 new screens just because they are new and shinier. I think once they start failing I will revisit what we need. The KS Range was, IMHO some of the best specced TVs (for their time) that Samsung ever made.

60hz is far too slow now especially for pc gaming. OLED has burn in issues though so if it's mainly for gaming I'd possibly avoid.

It's an inherent part of the tech. Each pixel used more will wear out faster. Linus even did a video on it recently.

I believe Sony XJ90 is the value for money best option for a Ps5 that isn't OLED.
