Is it games or my tolerance?

I can't stand open world games - I get bored. The exception to this is Burnout Paradise, but there the open world is just a means to an end of street racing, so I find it works ok.

Yeah the only thing I play these days are FPS MP games. I'll only play the campaign if its really linear and quick to get through. With the MP side I'll just grab a quick fix for an hour or so. Usually its more like 20-30mins though at a time. Chat set to friends only though.

If you have a PS3 and you're looking for a solid online community, it might be worth trying SOCOM Confrontation or Warhawk. They're both older games but as I understand it they still have a good following.

Should be able pick them up crazy cheap too.

If you stick to the main story they are great to play, GTA 4 Crackdown RDR but that had some boring missions

I imagine a part of it is age. I've found myself, as I've become older, thinking more about how much time I spend doing certain things. When you're younger, you tend to care less about how much time you have left, but when you get old, it becomes a lot more important and relevant. Especially if you work, or otherwise have limited spare time.

I can't agree with this more, in every way.

Two examples right off the top of my head which didn't last more than 10 hours gameplay max : Crackdown and GTA 4

Burnout Paradise, however, was simply awesome. That is the exception for me as well.

yup exactly

I long suffered with something similar.

I self diagnosed it as "Cantcompleteagameitus"

However slowly, and through perseverance I am now getting back into some single player games, and a lot more MP games then i used too.

I’ve suffered with getting bored of games for a while now… It comes and goes. I spent over a year trying to complete Half Life 2, but now I complete that game each time I upgrade my PC.

One sandbox game I did play right to the end was Red Dead Redemption. However I tried GTA and got bored after just an hour and turned it off.. Same with Just Cause 2.

I don’t know, I used to sit and play racing games into the early hours of the morning, nowadays though just can’t do it. I did do an all night gaming session playing uncharted 2. 8 hours straight, was just an amazing game and couldn’t put it down. And Saturday had the same with James Bond 007 – Bloodstone. Although didn’t go through the night, but spent all day playing it – 6 hours and completed it.

Maybe it is all about getting older, I don’t know but I do know that my stash of completed against not completed is in favour of not being completed… lol

So many games purchased, so few completed.

i think the last game i brought and spent all night (even though had work in morning) playing to complete was timesplitters future perfect, since then nothings really drawn me in like that i mean i have completed games but i didnt feel the need to get it done asap. fallout 3 took over a yr as got bored red dead took a month. i think i just enjoy online mp so much more now.
