Is it just me or is Crap Cleaner v2.01.507 really crap?

Ive only recently updated it but its just so slow to finnish cleaning!

It takes me 30-40 minutes for it to clear about 10 or 11 mbs! :mad:

The old build was so much faster, I had cleared 3 or 4 gbs in less time then i can clear anything these days.

Its like it on my friends computer aswell

Did they mess up on this build?

Could someone please post a link to an older build?

have you installed new AV or spyware programs recently?

disable real-time scanning in both programs before running ccleaner

could be that it's also using an arduous 'safe clean' algorithm though it would have to rewriting each MB of disk space a hundred times or so to be getting that kind of a hold up

Ive found what makes it so slow by scanning each section individually and its the Temporary Files under the System Section so i just leave it unticked now.

Just use eraser instead. It automatically wipes all free hard drive space.

@Energize, ccleaner's main function isn't to wipe free space, it's to remove temp files that are clogging up space

Try ATFcleaner. It removes all user profiles junk (if using an administrator account).
It's quicker and easier than CCleaner for basic cookie/cache/temp/pr0n cleaning.

Ill have a look

And Energize i almost wiped my entire C drive with that program until i worked out what i was about to click. I was ljust 1 click away
