I have real problems with loading times on the OCUK website and these forums. For the most part I just ignore it, but it was annoying me just now so I decided to do a quick search to see what the cause of this is - because its not a one off and I've always had this experience whilst using the OCUK forums. I regularly have to reload a page after it times out, and gave up trying to look at the website a couple of days ago because frankly I was getting nowhere.

I don't know if I was using the wrong terms to search with but I couldn't see any other posts of a similar nature. Which got me thinking - is it just me that has this problem? Its the only website I regularly go on that I have this problem with so I'd assumed it was a problem at the OC end...but now I'm not so sure.

Anyone got any thoughts - where is the problem? I'd be gobsmacked if a big retailer of PC and electrical components didn't have the facility to cope with demand on their website, but I'm starting to think that might be the case. But I freely stand ready to be corrected - if its a fault at my end I'd like to know what can I do to fix it?

P.S I wasn't sure where to put this - theres no website feedback section so far as I could see, so mods please move as appropriate.
 
The main website works fine. I have to sign in again if I don't actively use the forum for a while or navigate away for a period...but no problems
 
It actually made me chuckle - I was trying to use another part of the forum before posting this, had no joy so made this thread. After that I went back and its been working fine since.

I've always seen it happen in fits and starts, and am making the most of it whilst its working properly.
 
Thought I'd give this thread a bump, as I've not bothered posting for a couple of months and have come back and am having real issues.

Anyone got any suggestions as to why this is? I don't get the problem on any other sites but the evidence is saying the problems at my end. Thoughts?


ETA:

Just tried browsing on my phone and it loads each page instantly, even though its using the same connection as my PC.

I have teh same problem on my old computer but it is like 7 yaers old and still only has a old intel pentinum single core proccesor.
 
Was having trouble with the forums loading slow last night but it's working fine now.

Co-incidently I have the same cpu as you...
