or does anybody else smell there brand new fresh game when you open it for the first time?

I have a habit ever since I was younger of being all excited getting a new game, slowly peeling the plastic wrapping and then gently opening the case sticking my nose in an smelling the freshness of it. The smell of a new book is a similar thing if you get me.

I'm afraid I don't do that OP, although I will admit you used to get a nice smell waft up back in the days of the old mega drive when you opened a new game with a freshly printed instruction manual. But not now

Embarrassingly, I know exactly what you mean OP.

It's the ink from the manual / insert and the disc print I think.

It's like the new car smell of videogames.

I have bought all my games on my Xbox digitally and have missed the new game smell.

Got COD yesterday as a physical copy and as soon as i opened it had a massive whiff.

My co-worker thought this was very strange and I offered him a smell which he declined.

No but all joking I know what the op means.. it's a smell you only get from a new game with the cellophane still on it..

Not anymore they dont smell like the old heavy floppy disc ladened Monkey Island boxes. The joy I had as a young 'un just holding the un-opened box with anticipation and no internet for tips just a very expensive toll helpline that your mum would go ballistic at if you called so you just had to try try and try again...
