I think I know the answer, but could do with a second opinion.

I've just finished my new C2D MATX system, which was until last night running perfectly with my existing X1950pro (been fine upstairs for one year)connected through DVI to my nice big Samsung LCD TV.

However, this morning the PO had taken itself out of standby, but the screen only shows a standard "no signal" message. I tried a couple of re-boots, and nothing, even during the boot sequence. From the sounds, everything seems to be running normally.

Is there anything it could be other than Graphics card, cable or screen? I'll bring my 17" LCD down tonight to see if that works, and then try with the on board graphics, but as I don't have another DVI monitor I'm a bit limited with what I can test.

Finally, is there anything about a Mobo or PSU which could bork a graphics card? As its all new kit I'm loathed to put another graphics card in there and ruin that too, but I guess there's no way of knowing.

Even ram can actually be causing the problem, however you are saying it seems to be getting in to windows?

I would recommend quickly removing the current GPU, checking there is no dust in the AGP/PCIE socket, and putting it back in. Do the same with DVI cables

Unfortunately I've turned off all the windows start up sounds, I got the "bonk" sound from the speakers I normally get when AVG has updated, and the fact that anything comes out the speakers at all suggests its doing something. It was also going in and out of sleep mode properly from the MCE remote.

The next step is on board graphics, but I had to leave for work this morning.

I did wonder if something had happened to put it in a resolution that the TV didn't like (its a bit fussy) but as I get nothing while it boots I doubt this is it.
