Is it me or are all case atm BORING!?!?

Been a while since i upgraded my PC and atm i have this case;

Thermaltake Armour+ LCS

It is quite plain for my tastes but i added UV coolant and UV lights so it glows nicely to keep me smiling when i glance at it under the desk occationally.

However before that i had this case;

Aplus Twin Engine Case

I thought that case was fantastic looking and had two huge 250mm fans which were quieter than a mouses fart but also shifted some serious air. Sadly the Aplus cas died and the two fans stopped working (Aplus has since gone out of business so must have been a trend lol)

HOWEVER since then i have been looking around for my next case and all i see is boring square mesh things. I mean even the well reviewed HAF cases are about as flamboyant as a nun on at Sunday church.

Anyone else feel the same? All i find myself doing is longing for the alienware PC i have always wanted now as there the only things i feel are truly still sexy but i would just feel stupid paying there prices when i know i can build a better PC myself.

Anyone found any sexy cases, link please
 
I prefer a nice well built understated design now, hence i bought a lian li. Very subtle and no blingy lights etc. Also the quality is fantastic, ive never seen a case so well put together.
 
I can understand people not liking the Raven 3 with it's Gold! I like my K62 :D They also do a 'snazzy' red version... but in black, it's understated, does everything I need (and more), and has the build quality of Lian Li just Steel instead of Aluminium

Well i would hate to see your tastes lol.

In all honestly i slighlty agree, there the best of a bad bunch in my opinion but surley you must agree everything at the moment is rather similar, bland and boring.

Wheres the pasion, the life, the soul?

My PC brings me countless hours of joy, both gaming and adult lol.

I want its looks to reflect this... Im not saying i want a flesh-light built in the front, althought that would be awesome lol. But something with personality please...
 
For me cases have to do three things:
1. Not be a distraction from the monitor/speakers/general atmosphere of the room.
2. Protect the internal components from external influences.
3. Allow the internal components to function to full capacity.

1 implies it not being an eyesore ("invisible"), being relatively quiet ("inaudible"), and essentially blending into the background. 2 is referring to accidently spilling drinks at the case, direct sunlight, or other such things that can cause damage. 3 simply means good enough cooling to support the components inside, while keeping in line with points 1 and 2.

Hence I now tend to shy away from any case with mesh that isn't sealed, or windows anywhere. The sort of cases I consider good and functional would be the antec P series and the fractal design define series among others.
Money no object, of course there's quite a few LL cases I would be tempted by.

so you want bling? hmmmmm

i think people now have gone from lightings/blings cases to a more minimal look case with less bling, if you know what i mean :rolleyes:
 
Ive bought two Lian Li cases and the Quality is the best I've purchaced.

Both use thick brushed aluminium and have plenty of modding parts. I took out 3 drive bays for 120mm fan face plate and HDD bay adapter.

I lol'd quite a bit after seeing the title of the thread and then the content of the first post.

the case market has stagnated a little at the moment but by god the trash is still as trashy as ever, as pointed out by the first post.

silverstone, lian li and corsair make some of the nicest cases available but there is a prerequisite when purchasing these types of case..... you must not have the taste of a 12 year old otherwise buy antec.
