Bought a B grade 30" from OCUK and a second hand 4870x2 from some one on another forum. Just installed drivers for my GC and when I selected full resolution for my 30" I get this green tinge effect all over my screen, Its kinder like the matrix thing at the start of the films.

I have hooked my GC up to my LCD TV and the picture is fine, so I guess that means the problem is caused by my monitor.

Any help is appreciated as I have no idea if the screen is R.I.P

Are you using a dual-link DVI connector? Does the monitor work properly at lower resolutions (try 1280*800 as this should be 1/2 the native resolution).

Also, you should really have posted in the monitors forum.

sorry for wrong forum. I am just using a DVI cable not sure if its dual link. why is that important ?

At resolutions above 1920*1200 (ie for 30" monitors) a dual-link DVI connection is required in order to transfer data quickly enough. Although, if you're using the cable that came with the monitor it should be dual-link.

You can tell just by looking at the connector. Check the wikipedia page here (diagrams on the left hand side if you scroll down a little) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

1280*800 fixed the problem does that mean I need to buy a better DVI cable ?, no cable was provided with it
