My monitor always seems to get quite warm when being used. It's a dell 2005fpw lcd flatscreen type thing. It's hotter than the air that comes out of my computer, not burning but its just worrying me, I dont want it to break. So is it normal for flat panels like my monitor to get this hot? My flatscreen tv gets quite warm on the top and around the panel but not quite to the extent the pc monitor does.

yeah I cant feel it unless I put my hand above it or touch the plastic surround. Is it normal or should I be expecting to replace my monitor any time soon?

i can*(damn im dumb :p) barely feel anything from my sammy when i put my hand ontop of the vents.
but that doesnt say much as its a different monitor....maybe someone else with a dell could be a bit helpful.

but a little heat is probably expected ...just not too much.
do u have a plasma t.v ? well it should be a fair bit less than that.
plasma's seem to give off a fair bit more heat than lcd's (going by my own experience).

Nah the only tv I have is a small 15" matsui lcd tv which doesnt put out quite as much heat.

Sit in front of a BenQ 241W for a while and you get a nice tan.

Especially when it is covered on all sides except the front, so the air only has one way to go - in my face.

Have noticed this with my 241w as well and mine is on a desk with space on all sides, certainly helps put some colour on your cheeks:D
