Just wondered if its ok to disable C1E permanently in the BIOS on an overclocked i7 920?

Would it cause any problems with the cpu or motherboard?

Reason I ask is that with it enabled it seems to cause instability in my overclock.

thanks

Ferret

I have it disabled along with EIST, they're just energy saving things and should effect anything in the long run other than your electricity bill :P

Yep leave mine disabled completely.

PC is rock stable until i put the energy saving features on then it will BSOD when loading windows.

yeah, the thing is both of these features lower the voltage when they lower the speed, because intel have tested that the system is still stable when they do that

but because you're overclocking... the assumptions don't hold (you're actually running faster than the cpu thinks you are) so turning the voltage down causes the cpu to become unstable
