Is it ok to play games while virus scanning?

Pretty much what the title says.

For example, can I play tombraider while virus scanning?

Yeah.. why not. Its not going to break anything. Unless you get file permission errors in your game files? I wouldn't worry about it.

It will be fine, the worst that will happen is your game performance will be reduced due to the increased activity of your hard drive and CPU

I just pressed windows key and it had only scanned three thousand files, so I looked at the amount and then opened the game and closed it, and it carries on.

It stops while I'm playing tombraider.

I'm running AVG free edition.

Yeah God Bless dual core, nothing worse than being in a clan match about to make that all important kill and you start lagging hard due to preset 'scheduled' virus scanning
