Yes, I know- another of "these" threads. I could phone my mother like I normally do, but she's away so you'll have to do.

I've cooked a chicken madras in the frying pan using a Sharwoods sauce, but I don't want to eat it until later (when the Mrs gets home). Is it ok to let it go cold and then reheat it all later on?

Thanks :)

Yes. Put it in the fridge when its cold though...you can reheat it on the hob or in the microwave, or any which way you want....

I sometimes just leave it on the hob without the heat on or on a very low heat until I'm ready to eat it, this is the concept behind slow cookers.

No, it absolutely is not ok to reheat chicken. Once you have heated it up once and let it cooldown, it becomes infected with AIDS. FACT.

Yeah it's fine, I do find it a bit disturbing though that people don't know these basic things, do you want us to eat it for you? ;)

It is perfectly fine to reheat anything, as long as you heat it properly. The food laws in the UK say 75C at its core is good, 82C in Scotland. They also say you shouldn't reheat meat a second time, but generally it's fine. Wont taste very nice though :p

If its been cooked then its reheatable, but you cant reheat it any more after that. Its a bit like when you order a Pizza and you can only reheat it the day after for breakfast the once.
