Is It Ok To Remove Mainboard Out Case For Testing?

Would this fry the motherboard without the case fans or should it be ok for just testing as I have seen others do it. Obviously with the mainboard still mounted on the case motherboard tray? :)
 
If you have seen others do it that should be a clue :p

Should be absolutely fine, maybe angle a 120mm fan over the northbridge etc if its passive.
 
Ive had my PC like this for like 2 months now.

Though I have a Yate Loon and a Scythe fan where that fan is in the picture resting on my AC 7Pro and the 8800GTS.

Works completely fine.

Just waiting to get a new case then its water for my new E6320 and that lot. :D

Heh, yeah... scares the life out of my girlfriend whenever I do it, she thinks I'm gonna be electrocuted ;)

Its on top of the foam stuff that comes inside the box then that is on top of the anti-static bag, then on top of the mobo box. :)
