Hi,

We've got a tower case server which we want to lay horizontal like the old desktops due to limited space. I want to know if this is ok for the computer's health? Using CDs might be awkward but it's a server so we won't be using it much at all once it's set up and running.

Thank!

I don't think there is any difference apart from things like CD-drive etc will be awkward. Things like heat-sinks and graphics cards will, if anything, be better suited that way.

Seems to work fine...

I laid my work one flat due to a lack of space and so I could put my monitor on it. Seems to be fine but you want any air vents to be at the top.

That Antec in that pic has been so squished. :D

That setup looks really weird! Haha dunno why people dont do this more option my work PC is like this but i think the case is designed to sit like that for mine.

i'd go as far as to say its better to lie your pc flat, as the main components are lying flat, its a more natural position.

Optical drives are also designed sidways. You will notice one side has a lip, this is to prevent the disc falling off the tray when mounted sideways.

Is fine as long as you make sure the you put it on the correct side ie; motherboard in the bottom. Might sound obvious but if you had to ask in the first place, it should be pointed
out! :)
