is it possible ? (streaming radio question)

Hi....

Just a quick question.

I am wanting to stream live radio, is it possible to stream live radio from my pc to my webhost so people can tune in ?

I am wanting to do this because i have pants upload and think that it would be killed off quickly. I know you can do it on sites like ustream & shoutcast but i would like to do my own if its possible.

Any tips, pointers or links would be greatly appreciated.

Shoutcast was a great piece of software a couple of years ago, and I really don't see why you couldn't just use the server component?

Edit: That is if you have shell access to your webhost of course, and it is permitted under their TOS.

Shoutcast hosting isnt massively expensive. http://www.tidyhosts.com/shoutcast.asp
