Takes about 5 working days + to get from a paypal account to your bank account, maybe thats why it's showing as pending.?

180 transactions with no problems...........yet !

Yea it does'nt look good. Thing is he paid straight away with the 270.00, I then paid my ebay fees, and what was left i paid into my account, all this took place within 30mins.

I assumed everything was A ok as the funds showed up in my account, ive never heard of any stories like this. I then assume all is well and I posted the phone today (D900). Then goto paypal this evening to see this all unfolded.

mate it doesn't look good. Not heard of a situation like this where its gone the sellers way. Best thing you can do (if this is possible) is take a visit to this guys house and sort it out

Totally confusing.

Q.What is a temporary hold by PayPal?

A.If you authorise a payment to a merchant and hold a balance in your account at the time the payment is made, the balance funds used for your purchase are placed on hold by PayPal until the merchant processes your payment. If the merchant cancels your payment or allows your authorisation to expire, the temporary hold is removed.

Cant help you more than the link above.

Good Luck and hope you get it sorted.

Sounds like you've been done.

Theres a slight possibility he may have messed up his funding but id say 9/10 times you've been done here.

I always leave a few days before sending stuff as usually if they pull this stunt it will transpire in the first two days.

Here are my seller tips although it may well be too late for you, I might add I sell a lot of high value stuff:

Don't ever send to Nigeria (I don't sell out of the UK)

Don't accept western union ever

State clear your terms on your listing - dont shoot yourself in the foot

Regardless of anything, immediately withdraw the payment into your bank account, don't leave it in paypal. It may or may not have anything to do with how quick fraud is detected but i like to think that because you are performing an action on the funds, fraud may be quicker detected if the source is not legitimate.

Check to see whether the name of the ebayer buying matches that of the payer in the paypal screen. Excuses like "my mum/son/sister/dog/mongoose is paying for me" should result in you delaying postage to minimise loss risk to yourself. In your case the sender is "mhaumesser ebay" which rings alarm bells as 9/10 it should just be the name on their bank card.

Make sure their feedback is relatively good. In my opinion, anything south of 20 is suspicious. Check to see if they have bought any high value items. 20 purchases of 10p stickers looks like a blatant attempt to build feedback.

Any messages asking to send the item asap should be treated with suspicion. Yes, some people are impatient, but so are scammers.

Ebayers with very high feedback and confirmed paypal addresses are generally to be trusted unless behaving suspiciously.

If in any doubt whatsoever, delay posting of the item. I believe Ebay allows the seller a week to dispatch items, make full use of it.

My tips may be controversial to some but ebay is a dog-eat-dog world and you must look out for number one. I for one am not for losing £500 because i was concentrating on being nice to people - thats not to say you shouldnt be nice to your buyers :)

Hmm thanks for that Gaijin. I should be able to claim back from paypal though? Or thats just bang out of order, the funds SHOWED UP in my account, i ws deceited. Lead to beleive funds were there when they werent, thats the only reason i sent the item.

He has 21 feedback, been signed up since 2003 and last transaction was over a year ago! :(

i had this before, sold a phone, buyer paid (or rather a company paid via paypal) . i wasnt happy with the transaction, so sat on the deal for a few days, generally emailling the company for exact address, phone number etc.
any way packaged the phone up and just before i went out of the door , i thought , just check once more....sure enough temp hold. spoke to paypal, and emailed them everything. apparently the company said it was an ex employee using there account.

still didnt explain why it was going to be delivered to there address.

lucky call, but i think yours may end in tears....sorry :(
