Recently upgraded to Sky Q and with the F1 season about to begin (and being broadcast in 4K) I am considering whether to buy a 4K TV (circa 42" - 49").

Is it possible to buy a good 4K panel TV for < £500? There are lots of TV's available under that budget, but that doesn't mean they are very good.

The budget Hisense models are meant to be very good indeed but be wary of the build quality, some are ok with it others are a little shocked.

40KU6400 is available for just over £400 admittedly slightly smaller than you required size at 40" but still a decent tv , just be aware that majority of the budget tv's will have limited HDR

Large thread in the Monitors section also in regards ot feedback

Don't worry about Hisense build quality, they're perfectly good. Remember they are TVs and not a Rolls Royce Limo!

I have the 65M5500 and it's fantastic value for the money. Much better value than the other expensive bigger brands.

4k works very well and the M5500 has Amazon, Netflix and Youtube, ALL IN 4k! Beautiful.

£500 might be a bit tight but you can get the 55" M3300 series. I've not seen one though so don't know how it works with 4k and what the panel is like. A 55M3300 is £500 though. The better K5510 or M5500 in 55" around more like £600 and also very good. M7000 series is better again but more cash.
