Is it possible to connect a PS3 to a Studio 17 laptop?

Hi,

Im looking at buying a Dell Studio 17 laptop with 1080p screen, just wondering would I by any means be able to connect a PS3 to this laptop and play through the laptop screen?

It's a very rare feature to have so I highly doubt it. No previous dell models (like my xps m1330) have HDMI input as far as I'm aware.

If it was possible it would needed to be done via Component. Unless you can get a HDMI input card that supports the PS3's nasty HDCP.

Do the input cards not suffer from lag tsg?

I'm no expert, but as far as I know, you'd need either a DVI, component or HDMI connection.

HDFury allows VGA.

You need to check the specs to see if HMDI/VGA outputs double up as inputs but I highly doubt it.

Nope, won't work, the HDMI is output only.
