i really dont like noise and noisy fans, and i understand that the pwm fan header on a motherboard is controled via temperature sensors in the cpu

is there a way to control all the case fans in the computer (three fin case fans and 4 pin cpu fan) via this pwm header?

that would allow quite operation at idle and good cooling when under load

EDIT: is ther a fan controller that can take the pwm and distribute that to the other 3-pin case fans?

If your case fans are PWM controlled (4 pin jobbies) then you could buy a number of PWM splitters to do the job. If they are 3 pin fans then you'll need to control them using other means. 3 pin fans are not controllable by PWM signals unless you get into electronics and convert the PWM signal to DC.

understood, have edited OP

Sunbeam bought out their "rheosmart" for exactly this reason :D

It takes the 4pin PWM signal from the motherboard and controls up to 6 normal 3 pin fans via that signal. It works just like a normal fan controller too if you dont want to use the PWM mode.

Finding one in the UK though is the challenge ;)

now THAT is what i am talking about! :D

i just hope i can find a UK distributor...
