Is it possible to convert EK Xres non RGB to RGB

I managed to squeeze an Alphacool Aurora LED ring around mine. I do have a glass Xres though and honestly, I wouldn't recommend forcing it over acrylic as I think it would scratch it up. I'd say it's sliiiightly too small to fit on comfortably.
I guess you could deliberately cut / brake the ring neatly, use a bit of black tape to close up the gap.

There was a version with the RGB strip between the base (POM) and the tube.
Personally, didn't like the way the strip behave, as light from one side clashed with the other side depending on effect used.
Let's say the "start" of the strip was blue, while the middle was some other colour, not necessarily a blue-based one, and the end another colour. All three colours would merge inside the reservoir. Even worst if the coolant is some colour, other than clear.
But may be doable just replacing the POM part.
