Is it possible to distance learn GCSEs?

Did pretty badly back when I was in school and am interested in re-taking them, I work and have a mortgage etc so I can't just go back... Can you re-take your GCSEs on an evening basis, or long distance?

None of the colleges local to me seem to offer the service.

Worth having a look HERE , I think you cam get grant and stuff.
The thing is, the stuff you can learn is availiable freely online, and there are better certificiate then GCSE...
