Is it possible to fix wheels or casters to a CM690?

My Cm690 is under my desk and us very difficult to slide in and out.

I would like to, if possible fit it with some sort of wheels.

but due to the PSU being at the bottom I am not sure if this is possible, has anyone already done this?

Ok I bought some casters (£2.60 screwfix ;)) and I have them fixed, albeit temporarily to the bottom of my CM690.

I am currently only using one screw on each caster, using the original feet mounting holes.

Not sure wether to drill the case and tap the new holes or make up a wooden plate and mount that to the existing feet mounting holes and fix the casters to that.

Looks good, how secure is it with just one screw? Be tempted to fix with 4 short bolts with nuts (bolt on inside to give max clearance from PSU

Or failing that just make up a little oblong skateboard like thing to sit it all on (I think you can actually buy these now that I think of it)

As G-Dubs said, looks very good. Im curious as to whether it fouls the PSU as its a bottom mounted psu case?
Any pics of the inside ? :p

Might be interesting to do this if my CM690 was on the floor, its on my desk at the moment so don't fancy it rolling off :D

the one screw is surprisingly secure.... famous last words lol

no there is no fouling of the PSU.

I will take some pics of the inside next time I have it appart.

I am torn between drilling and tapping (or nuts and bolts) the bottom of the case or making up a wooden plate for the bottom of the case and mouning it on the 6 original mounting points.

Like I said, bodge something together or use no more nails ;)

Wouldn't have thought there was enough metal to tap a thread into, but as I don't have the case in front of me i'm only guessing.

No More nails Hell yeah!!!! Just don't expect to ever get it off again. It's there forever man

Think they ought to rename the stuff "Bu&&er wish I hadn't used that now cos I can't get it off now that i've changed my mind"

Probably not as catchy from a sales aspect though eh?

Well the only reason I thought I would follow that plan was because it is how the original feet were mounted.

Guess it must be strong enough then. Just thought the nature of the forces are different i.e. with the wheels the forces are lateral and with the feet they're compressive, and due to the leverage exerted as a product of the increased distance between the wheels and the case.

basically the longer something is the less force is needed on the end to snap it off.
