Sup everyone...

i got 50mb with virgin and currently using Netgear WNDR3300....

but ive just done a speed test and im getting 23.38mbp WIRELESSLY...

where as if i use a ethernet i get 47.70mbps....

is there some tweaks or something i could do to get the wireless speed around the 40 mark atleast? if not is this router crap?

the router is not far away from me at all its literally in the next room...

i am using snow leopard if that helps

50Mb may be pushing it, I've tried 802.11n with several different configurations and did not manage to get >45 Mb/s. And this is with 2 Linksys e3000s with DD-wrt which are high end routers/decent firmware.

Your best option is a fully wired Ethernet network, followed by using homeplugs if that is not possible.

I get 6.2 MB/sec (as close to 50Mbps as anything) no problem. That's using a VM SuperHub and a MacBook Pro (2011) on opposite sides of the house. I'm upgrading to 100Mbps tomorrow though, which means I definitely do need to look to powerline plugs. :/
