is it possible to have dual screens from single HDMI output?

What monitors have you got?
Work gave us these business Dells that can output display via USB C and I'm using it with 2 monitors daisy chained. It works like Laptop>(USB-C)Monitor 1>(DP) Monitor 2.
The G6 looks to have USB-C, would this be an option? Although it is dependent on Monitor 1 being able to accept USB-C + output via DP.

You can get splitters that support 2 different outputs (extended display, etc.) but most don't and those that do last I checked tended to be expensive.

According to the tech specs
  • Mirror Mode (Two monitor images will be the same.)
  • Extend Mode (Two monitor images can be same or different.)
  • Split Mode

thanks but would this setup work with this cabling arrangement ?

laptop USB C cable ------- dual screen adapter X2-------HDMI to DVI cable -----monitor X2

i dont know much about USB 3.1 display port. do they need to be connect to monitor with DP?

Get
1 x HDMI to VGA cable plugged into the HDMI socket for one display.
1 x USB C to VGA adapter + a VGA cable for the other display plugged into the USB C socket.

Job done.

Thanks

Is usb C same as thunderbolt 3?

Seen some on Amazon for usb C to VGA adapter but they listed them as thunderbolt 3.

So not sure
Thunderbolt 3 is a standard. However it's the same port.

You can get the same type of Usb C adapter but just usb C instead of requiring Thunderbolt.

I half expect that that adaptor is actually just USB C, and the Thunderbolt bit is just marketing for Mac users who don't know better - but there are hundreds of those adaptors, so may as well get one that just says USB C.

hi guys

got a laptop, HP probook 430 G6 https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=5PQ28EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB

is it possible to have the dual screens setup from a single HDMI output. would a HMDI dual screen adapter work? (dont want 2 same image)

thanks
My work PC is a Lenovo ThinkPad with both an HDMI and a USB-C output.
I have a USB-C to Display Port cable for one monitor and an HDMI to DVI cable for the other monitor.
This allows me to have three screens including the laptop screen simultaneously.

Note:
My previous Lenovo ThinkPad was slight older model and although it allowed me to connect two external screens, the graphics card would only permit a maximum of two screens to be displayed at the same time.
Either two external and the laptop screen blank, or one external only and the laptop screen.
