Is it possible to increase idle/2d clocks? (R9 290) - flicker issue on desktop

Hey!

I've recently went from a single monitor to a 2560x1080 monitor.

I'm noticing some odd flashing/glitching/flickering completely randomly when on the desktop.

From doing some reading about etc, I think it could be due to the 2D clocks?

I've had a look in Afterburner and couldn't see a way to set the minimum clocks. I know you can set a profile for 2D/3D, but again. Can you set the minimum clocks?

I also found another random thread from 2010 about creating your own profile and using it in CCC. This wouldn't work though however.

Currently it idles at 150Mhz for the memory and about 300 for the core.

I'd like to increase these idles if possible?

I used to have a single normal 1080p monitor that didn't have the issue. I then used 2 single 1080p monitors. Again no issue as it automatically increases the clocks when a second monitor is connected.

Since going 2560x1080, I am seeing an issue however. :/

Any help here appreciated!!

Hi Monkeyspaz5000,

What's the make and model of your 290 card and what are the default 3D clocks at stock? Are you overclocked at all when these issues occur?

Hi.

It's a Sapphire R9 290 (reference card).

3D clocks at stock are 947 core, 1250 memory.

Not overclocked when I see the issue, no. It only occurs on the desktop.

I was having a play last night with increasing the 2D clocks etc. Nothing conclusive found so far as it was getting pretty late.
