Hi
I got this bag of crap laptop that requires a raid driver on OS install.
I've done this before on some old pc of mine as the installation couldn't find a hard drive.

Now cus its a laptop it has no floppy drive and I have no floppy's cus no one uses them any more cus they suck!

Any other way of doing this, or will i have to get some crap usb floppy drive?
cheers

do you know which controller it uses?

what i'd do is copy xp disc to C:\xpcd (on another machine)

then use this tool http://www.msfn.org/board/RAID-Slipstreamer-x86-x64-t85842.html to slipstream a load of sata/raid drivers into the disc, then use nlite to build a new cd from that c:\xpcd path

the new disc will have the drivers in it

these are the controllers it adds

my.php

failing that, if you know exactly which you need (and it isn't added by that pack), then you could use nlite to do it

the quickest option is to use the driver slipstreamer, the driverpacks is also an awesome tool though

awesome pain in the ass more like, all this time wasted on some crap laptop!
I will have to finish this tomorrow.

nlite, its the only tool you will ever need to install XP both in an unattended manner, and with all your drivers, settings and apps installed for you! needless to say, I love it!

Well it took some doing but I've managed it!
It did involve using magic iso to unextract the drivers from a floppy img file and then use the recommended progs to build a new xp disk.
After that the instalation deteced the drivers and all was well.

Cheers guys
