Having driven past a gritting lorry on the motorway today, I have noticed lots of very small chips all over the windscreen. They are very, very small but in bright sunlight are visible.

It is possilbe to polish them out myself? Or am I looking at a professional repair/replace?

They are not bad enough to cause a problem wih the MOT but are annoying because I know they are there.

Replace the screen, you won't be able to take out chips and i doubt a specialist would be cheap even if they could manage it.

They usually can't/won't repair if they're that small so if you took it anywhere it'd be for a replacement.

Can't hurt to try something like AG Glass Polish. I very much doubt it'd get rid of them but it might be just enough to round the edges slightly and make them less visable when the sun hits them.

You can polish them out, you'd need a rotary and a glass kit. Takes a lot of time and you really have to watch the heat build-up because of the laminate. Pro valeter/detailer should give you a price.

Best way to disguise them is with some Carlack sealant, it will do a cheap fill and disguises the edges...friend did this with his Porsche after some serious peppering on his screen and he reckons it's as good as new until the sealant fades.
