Is it possible to reduce more noise?

Got the stock cooler on my e7200 and i want this htpc as quite as possible but without it getting stupidly hot

The case in question is...

What would be a good cooler, which would fit. BUT i dont want extra noise

That PSU looks like it's in an uncomfortable position for most coolers. The Scythe Shuriken is an excellent cooler for HTPCs, but check the clearance.

The chap i brought the HTPC, mentions this

"Q6600 G0 stepping (overclocked once then left at stock) & Arctic Freezer Pro7"

So i am assuming same one, just a different version?

I Use the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro on an i7 2600k @ 4Ghz and it keeps it really cool and its near enough silent, my Case fans on Low (Antec Tricool on the Antec 902) are louder.

Even playing RIFT (MMORPG) for hours it doesnt let the CPU go over 50c,

Its A Really good cooler for the money, and quiet

Well just went into BIOS abd selected silent mode

Well keep an eye on temps and see whats what. But tempted with the cooler mentioned

could you not fit a H50 or similar radiator on one of those fans behind the DVD drive or HDD drive (fit it on the DVD drive side,not the mobo side)

TBH, after adjusting bios settings to run silent mode, it is whisper quiet now

good to hear, should have saved you a bit of cash

just out of curiosity, would it have fitted do you think? or are they not 120mm fans, or does the DVD drive/HDD drive get in the way too much would you think

Judging from the picture im not sure it would reach to be honest. I have a H60 fitted with a 120mm apache fan to keep it pretty much silent but the pipes wouldn't stretch anywhere near that distance.

im pretty sure they would. the pipes are 11 inches long, and would stretch to the front of my coolermaster elite 342 case

this is something i looked into when i was considering getting a H50 myself, but in the end ive gone for something else

It may have fitted, but those fans in the middle are not drawing in air, they are just moving air. So dont know how effective it would have been

Nah not at all, i would love a self contained watercooling loop like a corsair. Still may look into it.

TBH, with silent mode on, its no different. As the hotter the pc gets, the louder the fan is. lol
