Is it possible to reverse a paypal payment

My sister has just called me in hysterics. Her son has accidently donated $1186 to a website called http://www.romulation.net/ which provides downloads of old console roms. I presume paypal will not reverse the payment, so is best course of action contacting the site admin and pray they do the right thing.

Wow.. I'm guessing since the payment went through you can't get the money back via paypal, just hope that the site admin is not a total ****. Although, he is at the top of the donation list which is something i guess.

Also, how did the bank allow that, it's like a totally crazy payment. Hell my bank keeps denying my card and phoning me up if i spend over £100, at least it was when i brought some speakers on this site a few months back, they seem to realized i use this site a fair bit.

I sure hope not... i sell something on ebay, i get funds, i send off goods then they decide i want the money back....

How old is the son? You might have an opening that way if you wanted to take the legal route (or make the administrator think you are)...

He is 15 so he should know better. The problem is that my sister is a single mum working for the NHS and is not exactly loaded. My nephew is going to have to start getting used to paper route as he has to pay this off.

Because her account was used without her consent, I imagine. I'm not sure whether or not she has to be able to prove that, though.

I'd just reitterate to her that she needs to change passwords etc. Or the next payment could be for something a whole lot more disturbing
