Is it possible to use 2 video output ports at the same time?

I currently have an old'ish monitor, Dell S2716DG, and noticed that it has to output ports, 1 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI port.

The displayport is currently in use to my graphics card that I also have another monitor connected to for a 2 monitor pc setup.

But currently I have a games console (PS5) that uses an HDMI cable.

So would it be possible to plug the HDMI cable in to the monitor as well and somehow select the HDMI port when I want to play the PS5?

Yoo should be able to switch between the imput ports on the monitor yes.

Output ports would be on the graphics card and PS5.

Not sure the PS5 supports 1440p yet though so might be limited to 1080p and the HDMI version on that monitor is only 1.4. It will still work but might cause some limitations on frame rate. (or not I am not sure what the bandwith limitations of 1.4 are off the top of my head)

Just plug it in and see.

Switching input on the S2716DG is a bit of a pain - you have to open the OSD, go to Input Source, go to the source in the list and select it - that I'm aware it doesn't have a designated hotkey like some monitors which makes quickly changing sources possible :(

EDIT: Tell a lie - under Personalize on the OSD you can reassign the hotkeys to change one to select source instead of the default colour and volume settings.

The HDMI input can also be a bit fussy - it has fairly wide device compatibility but not as wide as some monitors - I believe it lacks for MHL compatibility and some other portable type devices don't seem to play nice with it.

Thanks guys.

I'll have to try it.

I might upgrade my monitor to one more recent that has HDR.

My current LG TV has some weird hdr setting that doesn't properly work with the PS5.
