Morning,

I currently use ICS from my Windows XP machine to connect my PS3 to the Internet which works well but because ICS assigns a random IP for the PS3 to use, I have found this causes some problems with the NAT type which leads to some connectivity problems.

The host PC uses a static IP, is it possible to assign my PS3 a static IP as well? If so how?

Many thanks.

Not via ICS no, do it on the ps3 in the network settings, just select manual when it asks for connection type.

Thanks for the reply but this doesnt seem to work with ICS.

It finds the IP but comes back with a DNS error everytime, ive tried using my real DNS IPs and my routers IP for DNS but doesnt seem to want to work. Any ideas? Wouldnt I have to fiddle about with both my wireless card settings and wired card settings in Windows or something?

If ICS works on another pc, then use the settings from that on the ps3 but put it all in manually.
