to have 2 soundcards in one Pc?

i have the Razer set (sc and phones) its very good for gamning but awfull for Music, so can i enable my on-board sound and just use that for music n stuff or will it conflict.

I think in the past the Creative cards used to like being the only sound device in a machine but I think they're ok now.

It's not a problem for e.g. devices which are phones or those that are just used for voice e.g. Skype headsets because you can easily set your sound outputs in the control panel (XP), and choose what goes to which output.

Just make sure you set everything up correctly, e.g. your games sound output device to your Razer set, and e.g. your music output device (say in Winamp or WMP) to your onboard device.

In your case just set razor as default device then media player or whatever to use the onboard easy peasy.
