..to build a bleading edge games maching into a SFF PC?

I am talking about Core i7 into X58 running around 3.8MHz, NVidia 295GTX and something like an XFi soundcard. I want a new game PC but I am not a modder and find big cases and lots of lights a pain. I would like a really small box but with excellent power.

Is it possible chaps?

Well Shuttle size is my idea of small and around the size I would like, maybe a bit bigger to hold the GFX card and sensible PSU.

Then I'm afraid not, the Sugo SG05 is bigger than a shuttle but will only take an ITX mobo which limits you to socket 775.

After a quick look I can't see any mATX cases for sale at ocuk but that's the size you'd be looking at.

With regards to motherboards the Asus Rampage Gene is a decent mATX board that's been getting some good overclocks.

If mATX was too big for your liking then I'm afraid that the best gaming build you'll be able to do at ITX would be something similar to the one in my sig.

I've found limitations to be psu size due to gfx and cpu being power hungry and the physical size of the gfx as most decent cards 250 upwards require 2 slots

With a case like the V351 that takes full size cards you can use just about anything, certainly the specs you mention. If it's for gaming I wouldn't bother with i7 though, it's not needed.

The SG01 will take a full sized card as well, I wouldn't recommend going any smaller than mATX for a gaming machine. My E6600 and 8800 GTS are running quite toasty in my SG01.

Does the latest Shuttle take Core i7 and big GPUs?

Edit: SX58H7 is the shuttle that takes i7 and dual graphics. I would imagine it to be rather expensive though

Yeah it would be. If you're looking at high performance, then I think the best you could get ITX sized is something like an overclocked QX9650, 8GB DDR2, and a 4890. This is due to three things - heat, power (the SG05 has a 300W PSU), and motherboard choice (the Zotac being the only choice for something like this, and it's LGA775 with two RAM slots).

If you want i7 ITX though you might be in for a wait, it's a toasty chip.
