Just a question, I know I post on here a lot about problems with my PC, but it's only because you guys know what you're talking about and to be honest, I'm not the most computer-intelligent person in the world. So I bought the PC in my sig about 6 months ago now, and when I first got it, it was working perfectly; Then I started messing around with it. To cut a long story short, I tried to make a perfectly fast/good PC better, with negative results. So my question is: Is it possible to put everything back to factory settings, with literally nothing on it...and I mean nothing. So nothing saved on the HDD, none of my bios changes in effect, no overclocking in effect. Just everything back to normal, then I'm going to take it all apart and put it all back together. And see if it helps the issue. Any help is appreciated!

My motherboard manual doesn't say anything about a clear cmos. Is it the same as: Clear RTC RAM???

OK, so I did this clear cmos: and it worked perfectly. OK, now I'm re-installing my OS, Windows Vista, but I'm stuck between Home Premium/Ultimate. Which is better? Any advantages of one over the other? But mainly, which is quicker?

Further questions: last time I attempted to re-install OS, it did reinstall, but left the older versions on the HDD, which stayed there for a good 4 months before I even knew about it. My questions with this are: Do I install and then delete from my HDD? Or do I do something (not sure what) and then install the OS?

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks for the heads up. It's a PC that my school has payed for, and they have given me the license to both, so I just wanted to see what the better one was. Thanks for the advice!
