To run both the VGA port on an Asus P8h61 m LE board and the one on my video card?
I have looked at the manual and it says that the twin monitor feature (which is what I want and not for gaming) can be enabled.

Im running a Radeon 6570 card which has an hdmi port but my hdmi- vga connector doesnt make it work. Is that the feature in the bios that can be enabled?

I dont want to go tinkering about in the bios until I know what is possible. Im assuming that the inclusion of a VGA card disables the on board port somehow?

The ideal solution would be that i can plug both of my VGA screens into both VGA ports :-)

Running Win 7 Ultimate.

thanks for any input.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

HDMI to VGA connector?

How does that work?

You wouldn't be able to convert HDMI to VGA without some complicated electronics. Unless that's what you have?

Anyway....

HD 6570s seem to have a VGA connector so can't you connect one monitor directly to the VGA on the motherboard and the other directly to the VGA on the graphics card?

Or connect both monitors to the HD 6570 using a DVI to VGA adapter for the second.

Or if the HD 6570 doesn't have a VGA connector then try one monitor connected to the VGA on the motherboard and the other to the graphics card using a DVI to VGA adapter.

Edit:

FYI a DVI to VGA adapter won't work on the DVI connector on the motherboard as it's DVI-D (digital only).

Hi and thank you.

Apologies...its early lol!

I meant a DVI port and I have an adapter but there is no signal going to the screen. For clarity, I have a connector that has male pins going into the card and the VGA side is female to receive the cable from my screen.

I have connected the second screen to the vga port on the MoBo but again no signal, thats why I wondered if I needed to activate something in the bios?

The VGA port on the card obviously works fine.

What does the twin monitor enable/disable function in the bios affect?
