That i'm actually enjoying tidying up my garage?

We painted the floor YEARS ago, and since then we've had the house extended and some new footings put in the garage floor, so its had breeze blocks put in and the floor half re-done.

On top of that we have a leaking hose (when its turned on) so its turned the wallk yellow instead of white.

Yesterday i took everything out, and began painting it.

The floor has had its 2nd coat, and i am going to re-do the walls/ceiling white.

We are also going to put some of those bristle things across the bottom of the door to stop moisture going in.

Great thing is, its not costing a penny. My mate has a modified van with nowhere to store it over winter, so its going in my garage whilst the bad weather is here, seeing as its his van going in there, he's paid for paints and materials.

What else can i get him to buy ? :D

A pit?

Lol, very extravagent and expensive "essentials", don't you say?

He's paying for all the little bits, we have a brick wall thats i'd be tempted to paint, but it looks like it would need at least 2/3 coats, is painted naked brick tiresome?

Going to be a long-ish process over the space of this week getting it all back together, really dont want it filling up with rubbish again!

Always seems to, i've taken the key off my brother so he can't volunteer to wash peoples cars!

It's not too bad, at least you don't have to worry about cutting in the edges or anything.

I've painted my garage walls plain white and done the floor in green (got the floor paint for free). Looks much better than before and I don't get concrete dust all over my car now too.

I could do with a decent garage door, mine's a bit bent in the corner from the previous owner not knowing where the brakes were.

I was thinking more in terms of the bricks just absorbing the paint and them not being very...white until 50 coats later...

Its an inside wall, wont something like emulsion do? got stacks of that in the shed :D

Oow pics, i see a progress thread on the way ;)

Mine just went on with 2 coats, same as if I was painting indoors really (which ironically I'm doing right now, just stopped for a cuppa)

You wouldn't think my brother was a trained painter & decorator, the sight of a paint brush at home and he passes out...

Might stick a coat on tomorrow and see how i get on then!

Update...

Put a coat of matt white emulsion on the walls today, looks a lot brighter now...

Just need to go around places (nooks and crannys) that the roller/brush missed, will take about half hour i rekon.

Also got a HUGE roll of carpet mum has donated from the "well i was going to use it but its too small" fund. Its about 6ft tall and the length of the garage in length, so im going to cut it in half all the way down, and like both walls half way up to protect the doors!
